vinegar was made from "selected" apples. Douglas Packing Company, the manufacturer of the apple cider vinegar, came forward and let it be known to create the vinegar they were dehydrating fresh apples and then re-hydrating the apples with pure water to produce the apple cider vinegar. In the findings during the case it was noted that some other chemicals were used in the manufacturing process for the apple cider vinegar made from dried apples, but neither party involved in the case believed that this caused a difference to the apple cider vinegar being produced in any significant way. Beside this and the difference in apples, the manufacturing process was virtually the same if they had not used dried apples or other chemicals. The trial judge was presented with samples of the apple cider vinegar at the heart of the case, and apple cider vinegar prepared with fresh apples, and no additional chemicals. The judge decided there were no significant differences between the two apple cider vinegars, noting just slight differences in taste, and appearance. A chemical comparison performed yielded similar results to what the trial judge described. The Vegan Lounge should be careful to pay special attention to the details of this case, when it comes to their products if they claim to feature a certain type of pepper, and it is in fact not that pepper, but a pepper that is similar, they could be pursued with legal action. The Vegan Lounge should pay special attention to the labeling of their products being sold and distributed online, and in the restaurant.
