There are various effects that alcohol has on the body. None of them are pleasant for any of us. Even though people like to drink they really shouldn’t, alcohol can lead to death and irreparable pain in the family. Or a horrible car accident can occur while driving under the influence of alcohol. There has been various fatal incidents in the past where drunk drivers have committed atrocities out of their own control at the fault of alcohol. The vast majority of manslaughter cases have been at the cause of drunk drivers being reckless. “There is a huge difference between vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated with gross negligence. Vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated carries 16 months, 2 years or 4 years in state prison. Vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and with gross negligence carries 4, 6 or 10 years” (Joseph Briscoe Dane, criminal defense attorney). Alcoholism not only affects others but worst of all harms you and your family. Most of the harm you are doing is to your organs. The liver takes responsibility in eliminating the waste but there are other ways for alcohol to be eliminated like saliva, urine, sweat and milk. The small intestine absorbs more of the alcohol about 80% of it, and in the stomach it’s absorbed about 20%. Food slows down alcohol absorption.
