Alcohol is the most prevalent drug of abuse worldwide. Discuss the major, long-term physiological effects of addiction to alcohol. Be sure to include a discussion of the dangers of withdrawal.
It is said that one of the major, long-term physiological effects of alcohol is the liver. This would be true since this is one of the first tests I had done to me. Thank God, all was ok. Other parts of the body include the bones, brain, endocrine system, and the development of growth. I would think the latter would be both a physical and psychological one; especially since the brain is affected. These effects can also occur in short-term drinking.

The biopsychosocial effects in regards to Rohypnol being a date-rape drug is that it causes, in effect with alcohol, amnesia. The person, who usually is a woman, will become open to suggestions and will not be able to remember who did what, who was there, and will therefore not report the experience because they are unable to because of memory loss. Illegal in the United States, Rohypnol can be obtained in Mexico and direct mail order. Users are usually teens and young male adults.
The main effect of Rohypnol is to make the person uninhibited, euphoric, and cause sedation. Some effects that might occur that are least desirable are weakness, headache, nausea, unconsciousness, difficulty with their vision, and confusion. Again, mixed with alcohol it has adverse effects such as low heart rate, slow breathing, which can lead to comas and death. I remember the term nymphomaniac in my early teen years. This was a person who was known for having sex with anyone who they can, wherever they can. I mean the 60s were basically famous for the phrase ?sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll?; free love so to speak. So, sexual addictions do not surprise me. We have all been attracted to those of the opposite sex; some to the same sex. It is part of nature, but some take it to the extreme, and it takes all forms. Just recently, Congressman Anthony Weiner has been under investigation, and is going through sex therapy, for exposing himself to a supposedly 16-year-old girl on one of the social media mobile apps. We had two Presidents, one rumored (Kennedy) and one caught (Clinton), who had sex with women while they were in office. The Church pedophiles was an embarrassment. I remember swimming away from a priest in the 60s because of the way he was tossing boys around the pool in the
