My Name
I would like to know how my name began. In English, it is free holder. In Latin, it is a beautiful woman. In Nicaragua, it means half a dozen people answer when it is called. It’s like going into a dark alley filled with cats and calling, “Here kitty.” Carolina means common, its just ordinary. It is eight sweet letters. Carolina is like a song of happiness or joy. It is the color of the rainbow that comes after the dark rain. My name itself is pretty. I hear it and think of a pretty joyful girl that laughs even during the worst storm. I did not have my name inherited. Maybe my mom just picked it randomly out of a sack. Maybe she looked through a book, or the Internet. Maybe she just likes it, like I do. My name also means nature, like the trees that change season. With the leaves changing, dancing away with the wind every season. The leaves call my name, with a song of happiness. My name is red like the fall leaves and hot like the summer sun. It is the warm and cozy smell of cinnamon during fall. It is a feeling of joy.

My stomach danced salsa and hip-hop at the same time. Yet it was a beautiful place like an enchanted forest, with huge pine trees like a green sky, picturesque blue mountains, and a sunny sky that was boiling. It is an outdoorsy place like a farm in the countryside. Ducks barked and ducklings were getting raised. It was so hot it seemed like the sun was cooking and roasting humans for lunch. Though the lake gave us good news, it was a cold iceberg that day, which was extraordinary news on a day in which you sweat so much. We walked around camp and took nice photos. The cabins welcomed you in, with their wood structure; they were cozy and an oven that kept you warm at night.
