The Vikings were very skilled warriors and knew exactly what places to target. For examples, “Abbeys, monasteries , and churches were regular Viking targets because they were defended lightly, if at all, and contained large amounts of wealth” (Davis). The Vikings wanted to get the wealth that could be found in places of worship across Europe and the British Isles. The easily attainable goods pulled the vikings our of Scandinavia and encouraged them to voyage and raid. Attacking these places of worship would make it easier for the vikings to obtain the goods that they wanted. All of this in turn allowed the Vikings to become more rich and gain power over the places that they raided in.
The Viking technology gave them an advantage over other people because they were able to travel and conquer more efficiently. Their most crucial piece of technology they created was their longships. They used these ships to travel and raid all over Europe and Scandinavia. In fact, “the combination and
