Vincent Van Gogh's The Starry Night
The swirls of color drag your eyes across the canvas in one fluid motion. The beautifully rendered night sky is full of various shades of blue, white, and yellow; a tower of darkness reaches into the sky; a tiny town below, mostly sleeping, only a few lights twinkling in the windows. The Starry Night by Vincent van Gogh was one of the first famous paintings I ever recognized, and one of the first pieces of art I ever fell in love with.
Ever since I was a young child I have loved to make art. Van Gogh’s The Starry Night was the one of the first pieces to influence me as an artist, and as I grew older I came to appreciate his other works as well. The way he uses color and line to create his masterworks is, in my opinion, unparalleled by any

    The bold curved lines of the sky flow directly into the figure and endure to form the body of the individual. Van Gogh uses long, heavy yet equal brushstrokes to express feelings and motion.
