Virtual Police Task Force Analysis

Introduction

The Virtual Police have set up a Departmental Task Force it has been established to combat the juvenile gangs that plagues our city. This juvenile gang has a violent tendency known to have committed murder, sexual assault and robbery. This task force is set up to increase the ability of the VCPD to better serve the people of Virtual. This composed of many police and non-police units, which allows for many different approaches to the problem we face. This task force has 6 units and 2 non-departmental units and will elaborate the reason why 4 units that were not included this will present a clear picture of task forces purpose.

This unit has the responsibilities to disrupt violent street gangs. The flow of money, which supports their lifestyle, this includes manufacturing, transportation, sale and use of illicit drugs, and sales of firearms. I chose the gang unit because this unit is the specialist in understanding who is involved with each gang in their district. They monitor gangs and their activities to develop intelligence by assets within the gang itself. This will allow the task force to understand the gangs’ objectives, resources and plans for expansion. They will be key in providing information to all the other units within the task
I chose this unit because it knows the juveniles in the gang, which we are trying to combat. The officers in this unit may have had a run in with the members of this gang at school, home calls, runaway case or have had just a talk with them on the street. These officers are subject matter experts for children and most likely the children within this gang. They understand how to approach them which can either provide the task force information or an asset inside the organization, which can provide intelligence to the task
