Artist has a variety of tools and equipment in order for them to make their art works, this can affect their practice and what makes them different to the other entire artist in the world. Many don’t have to use any tool at all and use what is seen and what is given; they use the environment to manipulate the surrounding.
Such as the Artist by the name of Andy Goldsworthy, he is a British sculptor, photographer and environmentalist producing site-specific sculpture and land art situated in natural and urban setting. The outcome of his practice is that he creates his art work by the use of brightly- coloured flowers, icicles, leaves, mud, pinecones, snow, stone, twigs, and thorns. His knowledge of the environment
and the landscape he is able to create art works that are unique and almost mesmerising to the point that it’s almost like a fantasy and a dream.
Goldsworthy is seen working on new creations as he explains his philosophy that brings together a Zen-like appreciation of the natural world, a deeply felt connection with the Earth and all its thousand things, a fascination with time and the ephemeral existence of objects, a respect for place and all the marvels discovered within a space that one knows intimately, and a yearning to explore the energy that is running through the landscape. Sometimes his works change before our eyes and even pass away before we have savoured all their mystery and magic. But to the artist, this is all part of the process.
In one-off his artworks he has made an igloo using twigs and driftwood that he has collected in the beach. As the tides gets closer after all the hours of making, he watches it slowly drift away with the tides. Goldsworthy respects the processes of life and death reflected in nature. As the sun illuminates the finished sculpture, he notes, "The very thing that brought it to life, will bring about its death." This is only one of the many spiritual insights emerging from his art.
His respect and spiritual connection with the environment and surrounding he memorised the fact of that carry of the things that has changed and that have experience, he relishes the particularity of place and the deep resonances and a certain vibe that can fiddle with our soul.
