Another reason I think they should lower the voting age to age 16 is because youth’s pay taxes and obey laws. They should have a voice in the policymaking. If they pay taxes and obey laws, it shows that they are responsible and mature enough to vote. 16 and 17 year olds are allowed to vote, that shows that they are trustable and also once again show they can fulfill responsibilities. I think that if you allow 16 and 17 year olds to vote they will become more engaged in the society. If they are paying taxes they should have a voice in what the government does with the money.
The last reason I think they should lower the voting age to age 16 is because we don’t deny the right to vote to women or minorities. Why discriminate against the basis of age? Just because you are young doesn’t mean you are uneducated about politics. Students are educated about civics in school, which involves things about voting. The law says “you must be 18 years of age or older to vote”. Does the age really make a difference? What makes you think just because you become older, your views on politics change? I don’t think age makes a difference; your views on politics make the difference of who should or should not
