The minds of 16 year old can be easy to influence by the people running for office or seat in the house. They will take false promises and feed into some of the many lies that are put in front of them. Some of the people that are between
the age of 16-18 are more advance than other, but should wait two or one more year to at least le ttheir peers have a better mindset. 16 is the age of freedom for some people and they don't have time to vote because they are still trying to see what life has to offer. The minds of the age group of 16-18 are well-developed.
Another problem are the parents of the 16 and 17 year olds, who would pressure their child to vote for a certian person. They will have very little say in voting when thier parents are telling them to vote for the party they support. If the child was supporting someone else they will most likely change their mind. The age should stay at 18 when a child can declare their independence as an adult. The age of 16 will still label them under the guardiance of the parent.
Lowering the age to vote is not only crazy it's actually stupid. The age that stand today hasn't shown to much improvement, so until the improvement necessary is shown nothing should be changed. The only thing that should be change is the way to vote stated in the ending of paragraph 2 essay "Keep the Voting Age at 18". Which helps the elders vote without have to stand in line, and do so much traveling to the poll booth. Lowering the age won't help the turnout it will bring a negative effect to the turnout.
