He further breaks down the area of disciplinarian into three small groups. These groups include proactive coping, remedial coping and logical consequences. Each year I like to re-evaluate my disciplinary plan. As a teacher, my role is to is to guide with a stern hand, nurture with a loving heart and guidance from God, and education each student. It always took her ten minutes or more to settle down. But she never completely stopped talking and disrupting other students. I gave her nonverbal clues when her talking became too disruptive but she never acknowledged them at all. Then, I tried to use verbal interventions and had her stay after class. I discussed what was acceptable and what was not acceptable in my classroom. It was like I was talking to myself with this student. Her main goal in my room was to be the most disruptive person possible. As time went on, I finally had to call home for her behavior. The behavior improved slightly after discussing this with her mother but quickly reverted to the behavior before. I then tried using logical consequences with Mary such as having her apologize to the class about her talking and disrupting others. I had her stay for detention afterschool like I do for my young students. She had not remorse at all. I thought that maybe she need the attention so I tried to ignore the behavior at this point but it only got worse. By the end of the third nine weeks she was completely out of control and she and I knew it. Her behavior was totally unacceptable in my classroom. I finally resorted to a conversation I do not

Responding quickly also help children from hurting other. (For example; John and Bob were playing car, at the block center, John wanted the car that Bob had bob would let John see the car so John took the car from Bob and hit him. Jaelee really enjoys having stories read to her. She pays attention to the stories during story time in her classroom. Jaelee’s behavior has changed from my first observation of her. The first day I observed Jaelee she could not sit still and had a hard time focusing and listening to her teachers. Jaelee has never displayed that type of behavior again when I would go to see her. Her teacher Ms. Reta had said if someone is giving Jaelee attention she does not act out, it is only when she does not get attention does she misbehave. This is the reason I have not seen Jaelee misbehave when I am there. When I am not there Ms. Reta has told me that Jaelee still has a hard time doing what she is told, especially during nap time.…

Isabella is a good student at school but she becomes very hyper sometimes. Once she completes her assignments she will get up and walk around the classroom. This behavior is very disturbing to some of the other students in the class and I or Mrs. McCastle has to constantly tell her to sit down in her seat. Isabella’s grades are average in all subjects except reading. Her reading level is that of a child in kindergarten. Isabella sometimes talks to herself but rarely does she interact with the other students in the class. Amy, another student in our class often tries to talk with Isabella, if she responds the tone is very low and very hard to hear and some days she does not respond at all. Isabella’s mother, Anna, wrote in her statement that at home Isabella is all over the place and constantly bothers things in the house. She has noticed that when Isabella is sitting on the computer or watching television she rocks back and forth in a repeated motion. When Isabella talks she does stutter and Anna believes this is the reason why she does not talk to other children because she is…

He or she may not be the only child and could have may siblings so the challenging behavior could be from having to fight to get someone's attention. A way that practitioners can overcome this is by making sure they take the time out to communicate with this child but also make the child understand that there are other children within the class who would need help so they have to be patient. Practitioner should also be aware if a child have come from a single parent household or if their parents are divorced because this can have an effect on their behavior. I have seen this within my setting as one child would behave from Monday to Thursday but come a Friday he would not listening and misbehave and we found out it was because he goes with his dad on a Friday until Sunday. It is equally important if a child does not have any siblings.…
