Successful Communication requires that all members of the conversation can hear the tone of voice. Through messaging, it is harder to detect things like sarcasm or anger. People forget things that they read in a message, and sometimes they do not even read the message. Successful communication helps the conversation to move along quickly without any confusion. It reduces the amount of rumors within a group of people. Successful communication is using body language, and the tone of voice, so that all participants of the conversation understand one another.

Which way is the best way to communicate in the workplace? The answer may not be clear to some people. Walking over to someone is the most effective method because both participants of the conversation can fully understand each other. Text messaging or instant messaging can be confusing sometimes. A lot of people can forget what has been sent to them through a text or email. Sometimes they best way is face-to-face communication. Rumors can do a lot of damage such as what happened with Chris Dussold. This man lost his job because of a rumor about him. People thought that he was having an inappropriate relationship with one of the students. He was made to clean his office out in front of the campus police. This rumor cost this man his job and it publicly humiliated him. If someone would have asked him about the situation before making accusations about him; he may have not lost his dream
