Identify different reasons why people communicate-
Communication is one of the most important things we will do on a daily basis especially in a working environment, some of the reasons we communicate with each other are-
To pass on information to each other.
To find out each other’s needs and wants.
To gain understanding.
To be able to work as a team it is vital we communicate effectively.
To show others how we are feeling.
To achieve goals and complete tasks.
To develop relationships with children their family’s and other professionals.

Explain how effective communication affects all aspects of own work
Communication is one of the most important aspects of working in a team based setting. Daily tasks will not be able to be completed to a high standard if people do not fully understand what is expected of them, just as a manager cannot expect her staff to perform to their full potential if communication is flawed. It is not just verbal communication that takes a vital role non-verbal communication is just as important especially when working with children, young people and their families. Tone of voice, facial expressions and body language are all things that could aid or hinder something you are trying to tell a child, parent or even an adult in your team. To make sure I make progress within my role I will need to be confident and able to express my own needs and wants as well as being able to listen to others and speak up if I do not fully understand what is being asked of me.

Explain why it is important to observe an individual’s reactions when communicating with them.
In order for us to understand each other fully and clearly observing peoples reactions is very important, not everyone finds verbal communicating easy. They may feel embarrassed and lower their head or they may feel nervous so they will fidget with things like a toggle on a coat for example. If this did happen it would prompt me to take a different approach to
