The impact of Cortes on Aztec society - an assessment - was Spanish colonisation a positive or a negative?
The positives of the Spanish colonisation is that they were getting new resources, history, opened trade and got artefacts for sale. Also had more land to spread the religion Christianity. The negatives were that they were getting rid of a massive part of our history in that time. By the time they finished colonising the European disease small pox had already filled the land with it. In conclusion I think it was a positive that the Spanish colonised the land of tenochitlan to become Mexico.
