Was The New Deal Good Or Bad Essay

There are a lot of mixed feeling about the New Deal that president Roosevelt put in place. some people think that it was a good thing and others thought it was a bad thing that happened. Before the New Deal was put into action the U.S was in the Great Depression and most of the families were homeless and unemployed. There was people that was committing suicide because they couldn't take the failure that had come to them and their families. In my personal opinion I feel that the New Deal was a success because it brought new jobs to the american people, children didn't have to work in harsh conditions and were able to go to school, and the banks were able to reopen with money in them. Everyone was at the banks that the banks went dry and had to close down. Slowly one by one banks were closing down because without income they didn't have anything to put out. Social Security went to the families that worker so that they can plan on their retirement and FERA went to families that were still struggling to get a job. Also with the money problem Roosevelt was able to get control of the banks and was able to bring them back so that they were able to reopen with money in them (Kantor) The thing Roosevelt did was make sure that there was money in every single bank and they were able to open and with jobs popping up that meant that people were able to be employed and take stuff to the bank. With the New Deal put in place it saved the economy. The U.S was at the very bottom and without the New Deal there wouldn't have been a U.S. What most people don't understand is that the New deal didn't only help them back then but that it also insured our future. As u can see the U.S is still the greatest nation in the world and even though it hit the bottom it was able to survive with the New deal put in
