I believe that after such a disaster like the Second World War, progress and development must have been done. I will talk about the Social, Economic and Political impact of the Second World War on the world we live in today. I will go in depth and talk about current problems around the world like for example the difference in GDP around the world.
The Second World War had a huge social impact on the world we live in today. If we compare the education around the world, we can clearly see that continents such as Europe, North America, Asia and Oceania have a reasonable or even very good education, but what about Africa? Most of the African countries did not even developed or progress after World War 2. I think this is mainly due to the colonization of many African countries by the European countries such as the Democratic Republic of Congo (which was colonised by Belgium and is now one of the poorest countries in the world) which has a GPD per PPP of 400 compared to Belgium who has a 100 times bigger GDP per PPP of 38,500. As Belgium colonized the second biggest country in Africa before the Second World War, they took all the resource and the labour to rebuild their own country after it has been mostly destroyed. They simply left the country economical destroyed. The democratic Republic of Congo then went through several civil wars which left the population hopeless and economical destroyed. This left the country with a literacy rate of 67% (which is not too bad for an African country compared to Burkina Faso for example which has a literacy rate of 21%) compared to 99% in Belgium. Education leads also to medical care and one of the biggest problems in Africa, HIV. Of the estimated 39.4 million people living with the HIV in the whole world, more than two-thirds of them are in Africa. This is caused because most of the people in African countries do not have access at medical care as we have and specially, they do
