1. Existing Systems Analysis 2.1. Background
Addis Ababa University Faculty of Medicine established in 1964 with the goal of producing medical doctors to handle the country’s health problems. Starting from 1979 the faculty launched graduate programs, which was the first graduate program in the history of AAU.
In 1998 Tikur Anbessa Hospital, which is the largest referral hospital in the country was given to Addis Ababa University (AAU) from the Ministry of Health (MoH) for the faculty as a main teaching hospital. The faculty is the oldest and the largest among the health training institutions in the country, staffed with the most senior specialists. The Hospital provides different services along with the training activities. Drug dispensing is one of the activities performed among other activities provided by the hospital.
Information Technology has revolutionized the life of human beings’ and has made the lives easier by the various kinds of applications in different institutions including Hospitals and other service providing organizations. In the light of the rapid changes with the use of Information Technology, there are many tools, technologies and systems have been produced and invented. In the modern world, time is short so if there are many processes taken place at same time within a place there is a need for integration of all the processes, creation of paperless environment also ensures efficient task management. Nowadays all the businesses are shifting to computer based system. The purpose to having a computer based system is to help to increase the market share and easiness for users to use. It is increasing the demand among the user. Therefore, this project is concerned with developing a Drug Inventory Management System for Black Lion Hospital Pharmacy. In this system the drug management becomes more efficient & easier to handle with its reliable system components. Overview of the existing system

On the one hand, CVS should design a more efficient flow chat to reduce the inherent risks and inefficiency during the process. A proper flow chat should start with the analysis of the existing process situation in CVS and find out the bottle neck in the process. On the other hand, from the case, we know that a number of problems could occur in the part of Data entry. The doctor can upload the prescription after diagnosing, then the tech of pharmacy can check the prescription online and finish the remaining work.
