Statitics is the idea of collecting data and analysing it in large quantatites. When statistics are used in behavorial sciences it is used for the purpose of dividing into descriptive and inferential. Behavorial sciences are the analysis of things such as human beings and or animals. When looking into important information about humans and animals statistics are the way things are analyzed and processed for future. Statistics uses things like graphs and symbols and turn into information that is able to be used in studies such as behavorial sciences.
Differentiate between descriptive and inferential statistics. What information do they provide? What are their similarities and differences? Your answer should be 250 to 400 words.
Descriptive statistics are used to organize and describe the characteristics of a collection of data. Inferential statistics are used to make inferences from a smaller group of data. Descriptive statistics are used primaraly for larger groups and used to collect more amounts of information while inferential is used more for a smaller group. Less information because there is less people and or information that is being refered to. Inferential statistics bring information which is often called a sample. This is a portion or a subset of a population.
