A child should be given what he needs, not what he wants. I am starting this essay with this quote because this one describes our reality in the best way possible, where our children are becoming more and more everyday a part of the virtual world. Nowadays, children are obsessed with video games, especially with these violent video games that are spreading around and children play them every day. One day I was at my aunt’s house, as we were standing there my cousin came home from school threw his bag and turned on his computer and started playing video games. As he was playing he got off his chair and started screaming and yelling. He was really angry because he couldn’t win and he couldn’t kill the person that was shooting him. He sat down again, and this time he was really hopping to win and to destroy his enemies. In the end he achieved what he wanted, the enemy was shot, laying down, covered with blood. He started laughing ironically and was really satisfied with what he had done. He kept repeating the actions, he wouldn’t quit, even though his mother was calling him about a thousand times. The game producers consider any method for the only reason to attract children to play these games. Children who are exposed to different scenes of violence are often inclined to aggression, fear and panic and are generally wild and quick-tempered, considering it a normal thing. Reactions of children who play violent video games change with the time, when they start to apply more force against people and children around them. They tend to hit and kick others even after a slight disagreement. Affected by these devastating violent games, children reveal numerous problems, such as excessive worry, insomnia and behavior
