Case Study 5 The motivational implications of organization having reserved parking for certain members are that when an organization try’s to motivate its employees there is a psychological component that pushes the employee to want to act a certain way or do certain things to obtain a goal. When they obtain the goal then the behavior is reinforced so that the employee will continue the behavior to keep achieving the goals to keep the rewards. Like when Hollywood has personalized nameplates that indicate reserved parking spaces for certain employees. The parking spots are symbolic and are correlated as a status of power and success. What are the pros and cons of reserved parking from an expectancy theory perspective? Well to start the expectancy theory is used to encourage an employee to be self-motivated and to perform at the level the company requires. Employees are given certain rewards that will receive as a result of meeting certain goals or by behaving a certain way. Then when the employee performs in the required way or achieves the goal they are rewarded which reinforces the behavior. A pro for the employees is that they can get a better parking spot closer to the entrance making it easier to get to work. It also is a status sign and can show other employees that they are at a higher level then them and its positive reinforcement for achieving a goal or behavior. A pro for the company is that can get a certain level of performance or behavior from their employees to obtain the goals of the company. A con
