What Are The Similarities Between Dc And Marvel
DC comics and Marvel Comics, two of the most well known comic book publishers in America, the two comics have been competing against each other and entertaining people of all ages throughout many years. They both have shown many similarities and differences when compared to one another. DC and Marvel both have many groups of heroes who have teamed up, however DC characters are most often built more for working independently, in partners or as a trio, these discrepancies are not the only points that connect the two. Marvel and DC are two very vast subject containing many similarities between the two different comic brands. Both of these male character can be described as “American billionaire, playboy, philanthropist, and owner of major company in perspective city” (Badgett) and to add to their common adjectives they both lost their parents in accidents. Another way that the Marvel Comics and DC Comics can be compared is that some of their character have gone through ‘freak’ accidents that gave them their powers. Give or take the Arrow from DC Comics, the Arrow or Oliver Queen was in a boat accident that stranded him on an island where he had to learn to use the bow and fight against people for five years in Hong Kong and Russia and on Lian Yu, the island where he got his bow and arrows from along with his ‘hood’ that he used to wear, in order for Oliver to stay alive he had to learn to fight and kill unless he wanted to die himself when he finally made it back to Star City he began to take out bad people in his city. As for Marvel a superhero that went through a freak accident is Captain America, Steve Rogers went into the army and when in the army he was experimented on to make him really strong, the experiment had worked and he later in his life he was frozen in the Atlantic after a plane crash when he came out he became the first Avenger and he fought crime in his city.
