What Current Challenges Sew What Inc.
Duckett’s overall sales increase was mainly through the growth in web-driven sales. She claims this is a contributor to having a solid IT infrastructure. Duckett’s growth came from websites sales international when she finally embraced what information technologies could do for her business. Information technologies helped her to educate her customers about curtain design, making it easier to match materials, select colors, and how to care for the products she sells.
Duckett was able to increase her understanding on what information technologies is by adding hardware and software that led her to the use of “quick books, wholesale edition software, and Microsoft windows server operating systems installed on a dell power edge 860 server” (James

Sew What Inc. needs to look for new software applications that “supports the business processes and operations, support the decision making by the employees and managers, and support strategies for competitive advantages” (James A. O'Brien & George M. Marakas, 2018, p. 8)
Duckett needs to use the strategy above to increase her use of the internet, intranets, and extranets to take her business to the e-business world. Any small business in today’s society must depend on e-business to survive or to be successful. Sew What Inc. will gain a better customer database that will link all the transaction to the customers using an IT platform that supports e-business. This type of IT platform will allow customers to place orders directly on the internet and can link employees and distributor partners to the database as well.
