As individuals, we acquire items that are meaningful to us over the passing years, each item could be a reminder of a certain time in our lives, place we've visited, or person we have met. Each and every one of us have different items that represent who we are. I, myself have a few things that summarize me as a person. Such as, a daffodil which represents new beginnings and also happens to be my birth flower, a whisk which symbolizes my love for cooking, and last but not least my all time favorite CD, Nirvana, which represents music and the effects it has had on my life. I believe each keepsake has has an affect on my life and has made me who I am today.

My step-father, who I felt knew every rock and roll songs, told me it was a band named Nirvana, I had never heard of this band before, but, was extremely interested in what other songs they had. Soon after I heard the 90's indie rock band, I went out to buy their CD and was completely infatuated. I had never been a fan of that type of music before, I liked country music and that was about as broad as my music was, but, this band changed my perception of music and allowed me to step out of my music comfort zone. The first time I ever picked up a guitar I was determined to learn how to play one of their hit songs just as well as Nirvana did. I took three years of lessons and haven't set down my guitar since.
