Edsall pulls the fact that a little under half of voters say immigrants are a burden to our country. Edsall states that the immigrants sending their money to their homeland is one of the bigger issues if they spent more in America it would not hurt as bad. Edsall states that most of the minorities that are here legally have family or friends that are here illegally. Edsall explains how that will affect the election on November eighth. Edsall says most of the minorities will more than likely go for Hillary to try to keep their family and friends safe. For instance when Edsall talks about how cheap immigrants work is found in labor extensive jobs. Which is good for the business owner, but it makes more competition for the laborer. The thing that really puts the point out there is Edsall references from a few well known people and their ideas about immigration. One of the people edsall reverences is “Hillary clinton” which Some people believe, but her reference does nothing for me it does not help his case on how immigration does not hurt our country. When he brings in the ideas of “Donald Trump” ; however, There are a few things he says that are very convincing on the downfalls of immigration and why we should tighten up or tolerance for immigration. Trump says,”I want good people to come here from all over the world, but I want them to do so legally” (Edsall 40 ). That is very convincing for me. Edsall also uses statistics that help him show what all americans think about this topic and he does so very well. For instance he says “35% of all voters believe immigrants burden our country”(Edsall 13). Edsall does a good job explaining that immigration is not a big deal in some areas and a big deal in others. For example it is good for the farmer to hire the mexicans because they work for pennies on the dollar where us americans will not work that cheap. On the flip side to this though it does hurt the guy who wants a job but will not work as
