Even though it’s evening already, the excitement does not subside at all. It’s the long-awaited day of announcing the winners of the school’s writing contest, and the first prize winner has already been announced. Now with everyone eagerly awaiting for the host to announce who the 2nd prize winner is, among the crowd is a girl, Helena, her mind slowly drifting to her thoughts and wondering, ‘what hope is there for me?’.
Helena loves stories and has read for as long as she could remember - probably her whole life. Even though Doyle is mostly known for his literary works, he has studied at the University of Edinburgh Medical School (which is very famous for having produced a lot of Nobel Prize winners). Figuring out that the reason why he could write so well was because he was a medical expert (the Sherlock Holmes books were related to those medical things quite often, with all those mysterious poisonous herbs), had great intellectual capacity, Helena finally decided that the books were the result of much hard works and studies. Therefore, to produce better books, she thought she should also be an expert of something, as well - otherwise the products wouldn’t be as profound and inspirational - she wanted to inspire others like those who inspired her! Loud clapping echoes through the hall and she walks up to the stage in the blinding lights that shines upon her. It is pretty keying up, but Helena doesn’t care - she just smiles a happy, proud smile toward the cameras that flash every second. She had just won a writing award - and now she’s one step closer to her hope! It all started from her love and passion of stories, developed by the inspirations from Harry Potter and Sherlock Holmes, influenced by Arthur Conan Doyle, and she knows where she is heading to.
