College Reflection Essay Not everyone goes to college, there are factors that influence people's decisions to pursue or deny going to college, although there are people that decide not to go to college and there are many that do. What influences high school graduates to go to college is their interest in getting a future career. As a matter of fact, there are better job opportunities and ability to sustain yourself for life. On the other hand, what influences a person to decide not to go to college is having a low house income. In addition, a person's decision to not go to college may also be by having health problems. After all, the factors that influenced my decision to go to college is my interest in the career I want to go for. The talent I have for it and the desire to be a professional are the factors that directs me go to college.

Having health problems or an illness may stop the person from going to college because there are days the person has to be in the hospital. Also, based off of my experience, what influences high school graduates to go to college is having kids at a young age. That takes a lot of your time away and can’t always be behind a baby, that’s going to keep you away from school. Furthermore, having a low house income could influence you from going to college because you won’t have enough money to afford for a college. Besides, in the article by Kevin Carey, the author states, “Unfortunately, college is getting more expensive and many institutions that serve adult, nontraditional and working students are starved for funds” (pg 69).
