he actually invited me. Maybe this means that he really is a good guy and not what everyone says he is. “Well hello sleepy head, nice of you to finally get up.” My father said as I came strolling into the kitchen. “What are your plans for the day? Your mother and I are going to leave for our trip around 3 today and don’t plan on getting back until next Friday.” If I’m being honest I barely heard any of this because of how excited I was for them to leave. I can do whatever I want for a week. “Um I don’t really have anything planned right now but I will let you guys know if I have something before you have to leave.” I told them while getting a glass of water. “Now Kenny you know the rules no-” My mom started before I cut her off. “Yes, mom I know. No smoking, drinking, parties, drugs, boys, or going out passed 12. I know the rules, you tell them to me every time you guys have to leave for a business trip. I’m not 10 anymore you don’t have to keep reminding me I know what to do and what not to do.” I said to her in a sassy tone. I knew I was about to get talked to about my attitude, by the look in my mom's eyes. “I’m sorry. I’m just a little tired. I didn’t mean to have an attitude while saying that.” After a couple minutes of awkward silence, I went up to my room and decided to text Archibald and see if he wants to have the get together at my house. “Okay, Ken we’re leaving!
Love you, see you next week.” Mom yelled up the stairs as she and dad were walking out the door. Finally, I have the house to myself is all I could think. This is going to be the best couple days of my life. It’s now later in the day and people are slowly starting to show up, some who I’ve never even see before. Then in the middle of the crowd I see him, Archibald, I can’t help but stare and he seemed to notice since he came over to me. “Hey, thanks for letting have the party here, it really means a lot, Ken.” He said this to me as I was already planning out wedding in my head. He’s never called me Ken before, we’re moving so fast. “In fact let me make you drink, you can go mingle I’ll find you when I have it.” “Oh, uh okay yeah sure.” I was weary about doing this because in the news lately, girls have been getting the date rape drug in our area. I told myself that it really couldn’t happen in our town and none of the people here could actually do that to someone. Archibald came back a few too many minutes later with my drink. I got the vibe that he wanted me to drink it in front of him so he knew if he did a good job or not. I couldn’t just stand there, I had to drink it I mean he himself made it for me. He told me after a couple drinks that he’d make all of mine for me so I can watch the house a little. A few hours went passed and I started noticing multiple girls passed out throughout the house. I didn’t think much of it since it was a …show more content…
party. I went into the kitchen and saw a bottle of pills on the counter and told myself that it was probably just prescription Tylenol. But in the back of my mind, I knew it wasn’t because it didn’t look anything like Tylenol or Ibuprofen. “Oh, hey Ken you’re still going?” Archibald said as he saw me looking more at the bottle. “Um yeah, do you know what these pills are? They don’t look anything like I’ve seen before.” I confused because I had only had one drink. He didn’t say anything else to me, he just took the bottle and walked away. I started getting the feeling that he was a shady guy since he just took it and left. That was how most people thought of him, shady, he had secrets and big ones that only his boys knew about. Towards the later portion of the night, I started feeling very weird and went upstairs to lay down. After a few minutes, there was a knock at my door. “Kennedy, are you in there?” It was Archibald, I didn’t want to talk to him. I had a strong feeling that he was putting drugs in some of the cups. But the other part of my kept saying that it wasn’t him, he had nothing to do with the girls passing out. I didn’t say anythings so he just opened the door and came in to sit on my bed. “Hey, are you okay? I haven’t seen you for a while and wanted to see if you were okay.” “Oh, really or did you just wanna see if your drugs have got to me yet.” I quietly yelled back at him. “Drugs!? No, I don’t do that stuff. I came to check on you because you were missing, and I really wanted to see if you were okay.” Archibald said back. “Kennedy I’m not the person everyone thinks I am.” I didn’t really know what to say back to him because my heart was leaping for joy at the fact that the drugs weren’t his and that he was truly a genuine person. It took me a couple minutes but all I could say was “I wanna be alone and think this through.” The party ended not long after he and I talked.
The last thing I remember before going to bed was seeing the house a disaster. I didn’t really clean the house for a couple of days because I knew I would have time before my parents came home. While cleaning the house I got some phone calls asking if I needed help and people informing me that it was Archibald who brought the drugs. But still, in the back of my mind, I knew it wasn’t him and I wanted to prove it wasn’t. I started cleaning again and found the pill bottle. I saw that it wasn’t even prescribed to a family member of Archibald, it was prescribed to one of his close friends so it made sense that people thought it was
him. “Hey sweetie, we’re home.” My mom said while softly shaking me from my nap. “Oh hey guys, how was your trip?" I said in a groggy tone. In my mind I was nervous they knew I had a party, and that something was out of place in the house that they saw. “It was good, what did you do while we were gone.” My father answered. This is it, they know, and I’m about to be grounded for an eternity. “Nothing really, I mainly watched TV and hung out with a couple friends.” I told them. I wanted to tell them that everyone was wrong about Archibald and that y gut feeling had always been right about him, but I figured it’d come out sooner or later.
