This also puts a negative effect on Coppola as well, as he begins to feel immense pressure to finish a film and to make it successful. The production could’ve
been cancelled from the get-go. There were many bad omens during the shooting of the film, but Coppola’s poor judgement and pride had him continue with the shooting. His desire to create a personal film on the Vietnam War ultimately cost him more than he (or anyone else) could’ve anticipated. One question remains at the end of the day: Was it all really worth it?
I have chosen to do a video, or a mini documentary, for as my final project. I will be editing all audio, video, and other visuals in Sony Vegas Pro 13. I will be mainly using clips pertaining to Apocalypse Now, but I will also cut to other films that Coppola has directed in the past to use as examples of his carelessness and stubbornness. The main example will The Godfather and One From The Heart, two films that completely contrast one another, one was considered a commercial and critical success and the other is considered to be a failure. I will also be using reviews, documentaries, articles, and any readings from class that can give me a better sense of opinions and facts about Apocalypse Now.
