The ending is satisfying to me because I felt like in the end everybody had karma coming at them and they all ultimately got what they had coming to them

Daisy having no husband is left alone in the big empty house where her finances crumble and she is forced to move back home with her parents. Yet Gatsby is still unable to fill the emptiness in his life. Without the purpose of making Daisy jealous he turns to drinking and finds himself in the same spot he had seen Dan Cody in many years before.
Gatsby and Daisy live happily in their mansion and watch as Toms home is sold to the highest bidder. They live a long life financially stable and filled with each others love. They eventually begin a family and start a new line of “old money”

I liked this alternate ending just because I felt it was realistic and sad much like the original. In the end nothing works out for anybody and everybody seems to get what was coming for them.
I liked this ending as well though because I felt it fixed the problem of Daisy and Gatsby’s doomed love. Without daisy being such a money hungry air head she was able to actually have a meaningful life filled with true happiness instead of materialistic
