without unity will only result in a confused mess caused by countries not knowing where has been attacked and where hasn’t. As Vladimir Putin explains, “Terrorism has once again shown it is prepared deliberately to stop at nothing in creating human victims. An end must be put to this. As never before, it is vital to unite forces of the entire world community against terror” (Putin). America has been fighting in the Middle East for over a decade, and in that period we have gained intelligence and knowledge of how terrorist organize, hide, and fight. With our knowledge and firepower combined with our allies, ISIS won’t stand a chance. Americas military is ranked number one in the world, and our weaponry is the most advanced, powerful, and destructive.
With a ranking like ours why would we sit back and do nothing to stop ISIS? Attacking through superior firepower has proved the most efficient way to eliminate an opponent. For example, when the United States dropped nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki our enemies were utterly wiped out, and World War II ended. Sadly, ISIS is continuing to expand its influence. However, America has slowly involved itself more, and thousands of ISIS targets are being eliminated. According to a study consulted November 13, 2015, by the Pentagon, America has damaged/destroyed a total of 16,075 targets. Without American involvement, these objectives wouldn't have been destroyed. Potentially reaching their destination and killing hundreds, if not thousands, of innocent civilians. American military involvement is crucial to the takedown of
ISIS. People claim that American involvement is an absurd idea. They argue that if America were to get more involved it would cause more loss of innocent life and that we have enough problems in our country to be worrying about ISIS. Although these are all logical arguments, they do not focus on the fact that as ISIS continues to grow, more lives are lost. More innocent lives would be lost by not attempting to stomp out ISIS’s expansion. ISIS will kill anyone not loyal to them. So, why should we just let them run around killing as they please when we could be putting an end them? People state that America has too many problems, and ISIS isn't our problem. However, it’s only a matter of time before ISIS comes to America and they become our problem. I understand America has issues such as poverty and unemployment, but stopping a worldwide terror organization would save thousands of lives. This quote by Albert Einstein explains that “The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it” (Einstein).
