mind drifted to thoughts of suicide. His friend, having witnessed his change in attitude and work ethic offered him a job as a newspaper delivery man. This job gives Norlen a sense of purpose in life. He has a reason for waking up every day now. Depression can be a result of childhood memories that are suppressed into the depths of our minds until they affect us later on in life. In Norlen’s case his depression was a result of him having alcoholic mother as a child. Depression is “an insidious disease.” that claims many people into its ever grasping claws. Depression is not an easy thing to defeat, but with the right treatment and belief Norlen one day hopes to be able to leave his depression filled life, and enter back into his old one.(Norlen)
