What Is My Work Ethic
1. Work Ethic. With this discourse it may be difficult in teaching. I am a very hard worker and put everything I have into any kind of work that I do. I have gained my work ethic through softball and sometimes I expect everybody to work as hard as I, and sometimes people don’t. I will get frustrated and my anger will build. I know that as a teacher some students may not work as hard as what I want them, and I need to help them in proactive ways. I hope that I can work on this discourse over time.
2. Attitudes. With this discourse I know I will really struggle with. I think that work ethic and attitude go together and I value both a lot. I am the type of person who doesn’t like it when somebody gives me attitude. When it comes to softball I get really angry when somebody has a bad attitude because they reflect what the team is and the school itself. In my future classroom attitudes of the students will reflect on my teaching and I want there to be positive attitudes along with hard work.

Education. When it comes to this discourse I take this one very seriously. I love education and that is why I am going into this line of work. I know the value of education and all of the benefits that education has. I know some countries girls are not allowed to have any education at all. This is why I appreciate it so much. I do not like it when people take their education for granted, and do not appreciate what they are given. As a teacher I need to take a step back and try to make the classroom setting inviting and safe. This may hold me back a little considering I will want to try to make education as important to my students as it is to

"Nearly 36 million Americans — one in eight — now live in poverty and tens of millions more are considered working poor" (Melvin Claxton & Ronald J. Hansen). This quote shows that a large part of the population fit into the lower class. They make a nice target, but aren't the only class that is effected by the American work ethic. The American work ethic is a job standard created as an expectation put on the shoulders of the lower, middle, and upper class in many different ways. One class might be effected more than another, but in the end we are all created equal.…

Ever since I was a little girl I have been persistent in keeping up my grades. To the ordinary person, elementary school was a breeze and no big deal. While I didn’t find elementary school difficult, I was still incredibly meticulous about making sure that all my work was done well and turned in on time. Even in the third grade, missing school did not feel like an option to me. I remember that when my parents discovered that I had contracted head lice they informed me I would have to miss school while we treated it. Upon receiving this news, I sobbed. I wasn’t upset that I had head lice, I was upset that I would be missing important information while I was home taking care of the problem.…
