An increase in the American people’s taxes pays for the $55.1 billion annual budget for the Department of Homeland Security. Also, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) established its roots after 9/11. Before September 11, 2001, people could bring handbags, hand lotion, and even a handgun on airplane.
