We are able to weigh the quality of care versus the cost of care, by doing at home remedies when possible and choosing a quality but low cost doctor by looking at online reviews. You can check on medicines and see what can be combined and what can't even going further than what is just on the label. The internet creates convenience. It is …show more content…
quick and easy, while going to the doctor consists of making an appointment, taking time out of one's day to go to said appointment, and then making another trip to the pharmacy or wherever else someone may need to go. While the internet takes a few minutes to understand what you might have contracted or have, and then a quick stop to Walmart or somewhere simple for an over the counter pill to take care of some symptoms without ever needing to contact or see a doctor/physician. Doctors office or medical clinics are only open certain hours of the day also, while the internet is available to anyone 24/7, even if they don’t have it at home public libraries and colleges usually have easy access to the internet for all.
While the internet is very convenient, it has lots of answers, and while it might be simple, sometimes we still must go see a doctor or specialist.
It is a part of life in a sense, because the internet has many answers, sometimes we do not know which is right or sometimes, as humans, we need the compassion and sympathy a doctor can provide. Sometimes we must have something stronger only a doctor can provide. The internet is a very convenient and amazing invention, but human interaction especially with something as serious as your health can never be replaced. The internet has taken us to great lengths though and changed many aspects of health care. Whether we are patients or consumers, we all deserve health care from a doctor, but having access to it ourselves, creates a better enriched world where we can go to the doctor and more than just describe our symptoms, we may be able to provide the diagnosis, which just leaves the doctor to verify that and provide a prescription. Which in the long run can let the doctor see more patients in a smaller amount of time making appointments and waiting times shorter for
all.
