The treacherous WWII which everyone thought had finally ended, actually slid into the intense “Cold War” between the United States and Soviet Union. It commenced in Europe as WWII ended—1945. As the Soviet Union expanded their communism unto Eastern Europe, the USSR—Union of Soviet Socialists Republics—occupied Eastern Germany, Hungary, Albania, Bulgaria and many others. The United States did not appreciate this duplicity after Soviet leader Joseph Stalin had signed the U.N. Charter and President Truman took immediate action. The Cold War was unusual.
