Bill and Arlene Miller, however, feel they are missing out on the better things in life. They believe that the Stones’ lives are more satisfying, more exciting, than theirs. The Millers particularly envy the fact that the Stones frequently socialize and travel. When the Stones leave on a ten-day trip, they ask the Millers to care for their plants and cat. In the few days after the Stones depart, both Bill and Arlene are transformed by their explorations of the Stones’ home.” This is like a dream come true for the Millers to be able to act like they live the life in which the Stones do.

The feeling of wanting to be like them was kicking in more and tempted the Millers to engage in other things in which the Stones would. Putting on the Stones’ clothing is one way in which their satisfaction was fulfilled. Not only being in their house pretending in which they live the lifestyle of the stones but dressing in their clothing may have made the Millers feel like they were actually one of them instead of just visitors. Bill even called in to work to go to the house of the Stones and live the life in which they normally live. All they could think about was the Stones’ how they were perfect and wondered if they would ever come back and if they did, when they would be back. The Millers feared that the Stones would come back while they were snooping in their apartment and doing other things and would get caught. Though they had these thought and fears it did not stop them from going into the apartment and getting into their things as the had been while the Stones were gone. The Millers know it I wrong to be in someone else’s home being nosey. Being like this makes one lose trust in someone else. Being responsible with the tasks and responsibilities makes other people like one more and trust more, making someone not trust one then that would cause other people not to trust he or she as well and from there it would just ruin ones
