Twain both have resemblance in their form. Both have a beast who wants the merchants youngest daughter in return for the merchant's life. Both daughters take their father’s place and fall in love with the beast. In both versions, the Beasts turn into a handsome prince after the youngest daughter devotes her love to him. However, there are also differences to be accounted for. In the story “Beauty and the Horse,” it says,”her father looked pale and ill, like one who is deadly sick; her father looked pale and ill, like one who is deadly sick.” In the European version, they declare,”And when they arose from the table it arose too …show more content…
One day she mentioned this to the horse."Yes," said he, "I understand that very well. In the large room, you will find a mirror in which you can see all that you are thinking of." However, in the other story, there was no magical mirror which you could possess the ability to “see all that you are thinking of.” In the European model, there’s a Beast instead of a horse. They describe the Beast as,”... a huge monster -- two tusks in his mouth and fiery eyes surrounded by bristles, and horns coming out of its head and spreading over its back.” Those are just a few of the differences between the two fairy
