Since the beginning of time music has been a major inspiration to most people. Music helps us to come through some of the toughest times in our lives as well as celebrating the highlights of our lives. There is not just one music genre that moves or inspires us most people are ecletic in a music sense. Although, different music genres evolve from others and are built on other music foundations we all seem to have our favorites. While some R&B artist sing and rap as well as Hip Hop artist rap and sing, Hip Hop and R&B are very much alike. These two genres are my two favorites because they inspire me ,
I can relate to the messages and I have celebrated as well as came through a lot of tough times listening to this type of music.
Hip Hop and R&B are both expressions of the artist feelings and life situations. Tupac Shakur rapped about our society as well as James Brown sang about our society. There are also some artist that only sing or rap about their feelings as I stated. Mary J. Blidge is a multiplatinum album selling R&B artist that is best known for singing through her emotions and feelings. One of Mary J. Blidges’ most popular albums to date “My Life” was every part of her love life’s ups and downs. This album became one of R&Bs classics , it had inspired and lifted so many of her fans that she had to assign a tour just off the title of the album.
