What Is The First Matter Of Disagreement In To Kill A Mockingbird
1. Atticus is in disagreement with Aunt Alexandra over many things. The first matter of disagreement is when at the table during breakfast Atticus talks too loosely and honestly in front of Calpurnia. He only does this is because she knows that he respects her and isn't trying to offend her. However from Aunt Alexandra's point of view she believes that he shouldn't talk like that in front of her, and declares that Calpurnia will spread the gossip all over the “Quarters before sundown.” Even though Calpurnia may or may not spread this gossip that Mr. Underwood despises Negroes, Atticus backs up the situation saying that everyone in town knows that it's true. Finally Atticus comes back at Aunt Alexandra saying that Negroes have the right to speak their mind. The second matter of disagreement is when Atticus defended Mr. Cunningham after their altercation the previous night, however Scout had a different point of view on this situation, saying that when Walter Cunningham comes back for the first day of school it will be his last. When Atticus tells Scout that she is not allowed to touch him at school meaning not to start a fight, Aunt Alexandra has a much different point of view. She believes that good things do not come out of these type of situations and technically speaking she tells Atticus that she told him so.

Atticus explains the mob’s actions to Scout by saying what they truly are. Mobs are made up people, sometimes with familiar faces and even though they seem large and intimidating they really aren't. The reason for this is because they are a group, that is made up of individuals that can make their own choices to change their
actions.
3. I think that a man like Mr. Underwood who is a well known hater of Negroes was protecting Atticus’s life at the jail because he values Atticus Finch and his life as well. Even though he may not want to save Tom Robinson’s life he wants to protect Atticus and is not willing to allow violence to go on under his watch.
4. Mr Dolphus Raymond is a wealthy rich white man, however he rather spend his days living in the company of Negroes. This trait makes him an outcast in the Maycomb society. People in Maycomb do not like him and believe that he is mentally unstable and a drunk. One example of why he is an outcast is because he was going to marry a “Spencer lady when his finance found out he had a black mistress. This resulted in her going upstairs and blowing out her brains with a shotgun. Another example is that he has “mixed” children, these children don't belong anywhere because the colored nor white folks don't want them. The reason for this is because for the colored folks they are half white and for the white folks they are considered colored.
5. Judge Taylor may look like he is not a good judge but however he is a good one. Even though he appears to look asleep he has to do this in order to distract himself in an emotional sense of nature from the case. Judge Taylor is a good judge because he cares about the justice system deeply. I think he appears to look half asleep on purpose like I mentioned above so he doesn't get emotionally attached to the case. It's a judge’s job to stand back and make sure that the trial is fair that is why he cannot get attached to one side or one person. He contradicts himself because he seems unprepared even though he is aware of everything that is going on.
