So one of the guys, a young medic named Mark Fossie, brings his girlfriend, Mary Anne from the states to their medical unit in Vietnam far up in hills away from commissioned officers or any administration. Everything was going good. They were talking about their future together and how they were happy. They knew they were at war. One night Mark couldn't find his love so he thought she was cheating on him with one of the other boys. She wasn't cheating. She wasn't even with him. That morning she came back to camp. Mark was mad and wanted to make new rules. After that things were different, until one day Mary Anne went off with the “Greenies.” The Greenies were special forces Green Berets that spent weeks in the jungle and were a different kind of soldier. Mary Anne embraced their lifestyle. She left one day and never
