Victoria’s Secrets underwear ad has a really influencing roll on the ladies and their husbands. This ad tries to convince the audience by placing rhetorical strategies such as ethos, logos, and pathos to buy their products. As I’ve heard Victoria’s Secret is famous by their high performance modeling and how they look in the underwear they sell. This product calls the attention of the women and some men because they have the fame of sexy underwear. The message they want to transmit at the beginning of the commercial is “One Gift a Thousand Fantasies”, which means that you’ll never regret the article of clothing that you bought because it will satisfy you and your partner completely. Besides being underwear it will give “a thousand fantasies”.…

Victoria’s Secret was originally founded in 1977 by Roy Raymond; the store was opened in San Francisco. The reason he opened the store was because he always felt uncomfortable shopping for lingerie for his wife, so he wanted to create a more comfortable atmosphere using Victorian details and helpful sales staff. He later opened up a few more stores and started a mail-order catalogue. In 1982 Leslie Wexner, the founder of The Limited, bought Victoria’s Secret and its catalogue for $1 million to add to his current collection of brands already owned. In 1998 Victoria’s Secret launched VictoriasSecret.com, which is one of the fastest growing and most profitable e-commerce on the Internet. As of January Victoria’s Secret stores had a Net Sales of over $4 billion and the catalogue and Internet site combined for over $1 billion (limitedbrands.com).…

Victoria’s Secret embodies the idea of Sex Sells as their main type of advertisement. They use beautiful young women to sell their product. Victoria’s Secret models have a distinct level of curiosity and allure that has a certain magnetizing effect on the consumer. This magnetism goes further than the undergarments itself. A recent advertisement from the lingerie company proves that the lingerie is just a prop. In the ad there is a billboard with Erin, a Victoria Secret Angel, who appears to be naked with a bar that is able to be scanned over her breasts as well as a caption that says “Reveal Erin’s Secret.” Once the barcode is scanned the image reveals Erin in a Victoria’s Secret bra with a new caption that reads, “Sexier than Skin.”It implies that Victoria’s Secret undergarments is sexier than skin. The ad uses the model to portray sex to sell the undergarment. Victoria’s Secret models uses allure to push the idea of good versus bad to sell their product.…

The purpose of this paper was to observe the consumers of a retail store of my choice; I chose to observe Victoria’s Secret and Targets consumers, because I myself am consumers of those stores quite often, then to analyze the behavior of the consumers of Victoria’s Secret and Target. Victoria’s Secret and Target consumers differ because of the difference in type of retail they offer and sell. Victoria’s Secret consumers know what they are going to be shopping for women and certain needs or wants they are looking to satisfy. Target consumers shop for any age and any gender, in various departments that can satisfy needs and wants. Victoria’s Secret consumers are more likely drawn to the store based on hedonic motives compared to a Target consumer who is more likely drawn to the store based on utilitarian motives.…

Store location is an important decision for retailers because location is “typically one of the most influential considerations in a customer’s store-choice decision” (Retailing, 167). Most consumers choose which store to visit based on close proximity to home or work, comfort level, and other surrounding retailers so shopping stays relaxing and a lot of driving isn’t needed. Victoria’s Secret in the Beverly Center is in a shopping mall. Reasoning behind the store being placed in the mall across from the elevators in the center is because malls have high amounts of traffic. Another reason why a mall location has its advantages, because malls provide the chance to combine shopping with entertainment, a great place to walk around catch up with friends while getting your shopping done, bringing in large numbers of people a day.…

What do you think should be put in the minds of cute, adorable children? They should learn their A, B, C’s and 1, 2, 3’s. They should know nursery rhymes and children’s songs. They should know how to read and write. They absorb everything they could see; I mean what child shouldn’t want to have a grasp of everything. They are over- achievers. You know, they know what they should not know, the stuff that you put on your posters. Little kids should not be exposed to that amount of inappropriate stuff. Imagine a little kid walking to Toys R Us and pointing at a women’s bra on your poster. He asks his mom, “What is that?” The ashamed mother of this child grabs him by his hand and drags him away. It also embarrasses women and is disturbing to most shoppers that are 11 or 12 years of age. You have to do something about it.…
