What Is Viola's Goal?

When Viola first finds out that the girls’ soccer team got cut, she immediately turns to another solution, which was to try out for the boy’s soccer team. Viola’s undefined determination to reach her goal makes this movie a classic inspirational comedian movie worth watching.

Viola’s goal was to show everyone that she could become a soccer player that is able to compete with mens’ skills. She disguises herself as Sebastian and gets to train soccer with her future boyfriend that will play soccer with her. At first Duke’s goal was to become a really good soccer player and be able to acquire Olivia as his girlfriend. In reality, Duke trains Viola disguised as Sebastian, and gets motivated by her into forgetting Olivia to instead go out with Viola or herself. Olivia’s goal, in the other hand, was to get Sebastian to be her boyfriend even though in reality Sebastian was disguised as Viola. Once Olivia saw Sebastian ignoring her, she decided to go out with Duke to get Sebastian jealous. This enraged Duke, but it turned out beneficial for Olivia when the real Sebastian got home from London and accepted her. Sebastian’s goal was to become a recognized musician or rock band in the world so he left to London not knowing that her sister Viola was going to use him by disguising herself as Sebastian.
