Many could argue against this philosophy. Some feel that if one refuses to take anything from a certain experience and similarly deems their own time a waste, then it proves true. However, this is far from the case. No matter how one feels, the brain is constantly taking in and storing new information even if it is against one’s will. Take horror movies for example. For those in despise of horror movies happen to catch a glimpse of a scene, they refuse to except it is true. Yet, that very same moment the brain has instantly locked the images into memory, and a fresh nightmare is now in store.
Further leading off this point is the ability to forget. If one forgets a certain experience could it then be deemed a waste of time? To explore this further, we must deepen the level of our knowledge by defining the true meaning “to forget”.
It is true that in some places we are able to learn much more than others, depending on how it is taught. So, does being stuck in the lower educative class ring of wasted time?
