What Is Your Explanation Of Cash's Song 'Hurt'

In the remake of “Hurt,” Cash sings about his life of pain, feeling lost, and being alone. Many people automatically concluded that he was referring to his drug problem or his wife, he may have been referring to those things, but it goes deeper than that. Everything is not always what it seem. While listening to him sing this song with so much emotion, I feel his pain. In his voice, I hear that pain, and it resonates with me in many different ways. I lost many things within the past few year’s friends, loved ones, joy, happiness, and confidence. When Cash sings, “Full of broken thoughts / I cannot repair,” he is at a standstill with his mind and struggles with focusing on the repair of those thoughts. I have been trying to focus on the important things in my life, but lately it has been harder to bring my thoughts together. There are many broken things in my life that I have had to leave behind because some were irreparable. I have moved around a lot since graduating high school, in between all my moving, I lost myself.
