Quitney Cromer Course: Eng090-03 Date: September13, 2012 Paragraph One What Makes A Person An Adult? Some people have different opinion on what makes a person an adult; however here are some of my thoughts on what make a person an adult. In this paragraph we are going to talk about three factors of adulthood: 1. Maturity 2. Respect 3. Responsibility. What is maturity? Maturity is being able to react calmly and mannerly to a problem or situation you have gotten yourself into. You also develop maturity threw your past experience. For example, You and say a co-worker or any other adult are arguing back and forth the mature thing for you to do is find a solution that only not works for you but them as well. This will come to the closing of the argument and you would have been the mature one in the situation. Respect can be defined in a lot of ways. You can’t just be given respect as an adult people have to earn respect. As an adult you should treat other adults with the respect that you want to be treated with. For example if people go around treating other adults as children more than likely you will receive that some action. Another example of Respect would be at your job when your boss tells you to do something even though you prefer not. That is respect for your boss. Last we have Responsibility. What is Responsibility? Responsibility generally comes with adulthood, because once people are consider an adult their parents, teachers, family will accept a lot from them. A good example of responsibility of an adult is having a family and trying to take care of them while trying to maintain your job! Another example would be while at work whatever it is people may do for a living for insistent I work at a childcare my responsibility there is to watch the kids, change their diapers every 5 minutes, clean the toys and the room. There is Responsibility in everything that we do in life. So how do you decide what makes a person an adult well maybe some of

The transition into adulthood is a period of growth that many people will remember for the rest of their lives. Adulthood is the period where a person has reached his or her full growth development, and maturity. This period of growth comes along with a lot of changes. As an individual moves into their adulthood he or she encounters a variety of changes within the body. For example, he or she sees changes in skin appearance, vision and hearing, and his or her immune system functioning. Morris Kent was 16 years old when police arrested and charged him for multiple counts of burglary, robbery, and rape. The teen was already on probation in Washington D.C. for prior burglaries and theft. The prosecutor on the case wanted Kent's trial to happen in adult court. His reasons included Kent's criminal history and the serious nature of the current charges. Kent's lawyer, of course, wanted the case to stay in juvenile court. Had the judge allowed a hearing, Kent's lawyer would have argued that his client was mentally ill. He would have said this fact should be considered before determining which trial court to use. Yet the judge made the decision without holding a hearing. The adult court tried Kent and found him guilty of the charges. His sentence was 30 to 90 years in prison. In his appeal, Kent argued that the case should have stayed in juvenile court.…

I am not an adult, I am a child. To be an adult you have to be fiscally responsible, and mature. I am not fiscally responsible because even though I have a small job where I make spending money, I still rely on my parents for all of my needs. I do not fully understand what it means to really save money because the money I make I just spend on wants, not needs. I have yet to do any of these things. Also as a 17 about to be 18 year old boy I am still not fully mature, I still act like a child quite often. An example of this immaturity is I still expect Christmas and birthday presents, I still expect my parents to pay for me when I am with them, and finally I still sometimes act like a little kid when I do not get what I want.…
