Psychology explains how and why people do the things they do; why people feel the way they feel; and how people think and reason. We rely on the people that are around us the most to help determine our actions. Most of us lean on our family for support and guidance to help persuade us to make the right decisions. Not only do we rely on the opinions and beliefs of our loved ones, but also we all rely on our religious beliefs when making decisions. Religion is a huge part of how people think, feel and act the way they do. God is a huge part of everyone’s life and is very involved in the choices we make everyday, whether you believe in Him or not.
We constantly debate within ourselves on whether or not we should think with our heads or with our hearts, and in most cases we turn to friends and family for advice and guidance. However, there is a fraction of the world that does not have the guidance of friends and family, so they turn to music, gangs, dance, and art. Music and different types of genres are important to many people. Some people are so passionate about music because music is an avenue when going through life’s difficulties. In unfortunate cases, young adults turn to the streets and gangs for acceptance because, they believe no one really cares for them, when looking for that care, the streets are readily available and welcoming.
Another tragic outlet is drug and alcohol abuse, which is also attracted by young adults. They tend to believe that experience the effects of drugs and alcohol will help them deal with reality. Once they experience the effects of drugs an alcohol and see how it makes them feel, it’s hard to free them from the addiction. Most young adults don’t make it out alive. Then there are sports, which are what I turn to when I’m stuck, when I am upset about something, when I need to get away from everyone around me, or when I need to just
