There is already dopamine in the brain before true happiness is felt, but when your brain feels what the body is feeling, dopamine increases, again, causing some to get chills. This doesn’t work with all music, though. This releasing of dopamine only occurs when the music is actually enjoyed. Therefore, if a person is forced to listen to classical music or opera, and they hate that type of music, nothing will happen. Another example would be a woman moved to the United States from Africa when she was 25 years old, and she had gotten homesick. All of a sudden, she hears a song that reminds her of home, and almost instantly, she becomes happy, feeling as if she was home
