De Botton believes the role of humorists to not show entertainment but “to convey messages that may be dangerous or impossible to state.” An example is a stand-up comedian, Gabriel Iglesias or Fluffy, makes comments centered on how he is fluffy and hot. Fluffy talks about how the word fluffy is socially acceptable than someone saying fat. He goes on to say that “When you call a girl fat she’ll throw a tantrum but when you say she is fluffy it’s almost a better appeal to it.” Many people enjoyed Iglesias perspective of weight and how it does not set anyone apart from one another.
