Business Organization

I started my Lawn Mowing Service as a sole proprietorship. I bought the lawn mover, edge trimmer, gasoline, and rake. I mowed neighbor’s yards. I got all the profits. If I did a bad job, or could not mow because of weather, I took a loss. I was very successful and made a lot of money and had 100 yards to tend every month. But I got tired of mowing 100 yards a month and working between 10 and 12 hour days. I needed help. Most people would remember a feminine figure, whether it be your mother, grandmother or another female relative. Commonly, females take responsibility over young children. In some cases though, a male in the family will take over this nurturing position, much like in The Scarlet Ibis by James Hurst, in which a young boy decides to help his disabled brother learn to walk. In the text, the reader discovers that males are able to take responsibility for a kid when a female chooses not to and leave the child the same as if a woman were to raise it.…

“As the 1960s progressed, young Americans’ understanding of freedom increasingly expanded to include cultural freedom”(Foner, E. 2006). The generational rebellion that became to be known as counterculture would soon descend upon the hills of Bethel in upstate New York to what would be “the counterculture’s biggest bash”. The 1969 Woodstock Music Festival forever left a footprint in the lives of all those who had a hand in the staging of the festival, whether it be a hippie, planner, resident, or a business owner. It “brought together hundreds of thousands of young people to celebrate their alternative lifestyle and independence from adult authority.” (Foner, E. 2006). On August 15 to August 18, 1969, more than 450,000 people gathered on Max Yasgure’s pasture in Sullivan County to listen to music from artists such as Jimi Hendrix and Joan Baez. The town of Bethel was hit with a huge impact. While some good came out of it, such as local motels and gas stations profiting from the influx of hippies, farmers lost income and land were destroyed. Residents were left to clean up the mess left behind. Woodstock can be attributed to bringing the community of Bethel together as well as the young Americans who now had a stronger sense of community. Local government had to intervene by creating zoning laws. The residents of Bethel were promised future traffic jams would be prevented. Political fallout also resulted after Woodstock.…

Over the years I became educated and skilled at clothing making and dreamed of profiting on my own and establishing a small shop in town to continue in the trade. My master and the family agreed to grant me a business loan and would donate the necessary tools to help me get started. Of course I would return the favor given the success of my business along with monthly payment installments. Getting started was difficult given my deformity due to small pox scarring, my family being loving and generous toward me were able to overlook my scars. The report of the masters clothing had spread across the village and many villagers were loyal customers, they saw that I was very skilled in my new found profession and continued business. Eventually business grew and we established a loyal customer base that got us through the threat of cheap slave labor. Although our prices fluctuated to compete with the slave owners our product was crafted with more integrity and kept business going. The need for products grew however customers were unable to always pay upfront forcing us to collect our profits. We started offering our customers discount opportunities for their loyal business and paying in cash. This helped our business receive more cash payments versus trade goods and lending…

When working with children clear communication is needed this could be verbally or using sign language, flash cards or through play. Communication helps to build positive relationships with the children and their family's. Communicating with parents/carers is vital, parents/carers know the children better than anyone and can give us valuable information regarding the child's like and dislikes, dietary requirements, special needs and cultural beliefs this will help us meet the child's needs.
