What are blackheads?
Blackheads appear on your skin because of clogged hair follicles. They are called as such because their surfaces appear to be dark or black. It is also a mild form of acne which usually emerge on a person’s face. However, it can also materialize on different parts of the body such as the back, chest, arms, shoulders and neck.

include hormonal changes in one’s body, using skin products that your skin does not like, taking in some medications, feeling stress, caffeine and alcohol intake, smoking, sugary foods, excessive sweating, and even sleeping with your make-up on.
How to get rid of blackheads on your nose?
No matter how hateful this foe can be, it is still fightable. There is a best way to get rid of blackheads and ensure that you will have a smooth and lovely nose. But how do you get rid of blackheads? Simply follow these remedies:
1. Honey and cinnamon strips
When honey and cinnamon are combined, you have a wonderful weapon to fight off the emergence of blackheads. Honey has antibacterial properties and cinnamon improves your skin’s blood circulation. Thus, the mixture will not only get rid of blackheads but will also make your skin appear smooth and healthy.
STEPS:
- Gather equipments and ingredients: 1 tsp cinnamon powder, 1 tsp organic honey, and clean strips of cotton.
- Mix cinnamon and honey to form paste.
- Apply a thin layer of the paste on your nose and press a c lean cotton strip over it.
- Let it stay for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Remove the paste and gently clean your face.
- Apply a moisturizer after you finish cleaning your face.
2. Egg white mask
Many people swore that the best way to get rid of blackheads is the use of egg whites. Why? Egg whites have proven that they are effective at temporarily tightening face pores which does not only remove current blackheads but also help reduce the appearance of other blackheads in the future.
STEPS:
- Gather equipments and ingredients: 1 egg, facial tissue or toilet papers, clean towel, and small bowl.
- Separate the egg whites from the yolk.
- Wash your face and pat dry.
- Apply a thin layer of the egg white on your nose, and place a tissue over the layer then press it gently onto the face.
- Once the first layer has dried, apply a second layer and a third layer following the same procedure.
Make sure that you let the mask dry itself properly.
- Peel the tissue layers and wash your face gently. Clean it properly that no residue is left.
*** You can put up to 5 layers. However, make sure that each layer is properly dried. If not dry enough and another layer is placed, this method will not be as effective.
3. Lemon juice
Lemon juice is one of the methods used on how to get rid of blackheads on your nose because it has an essential astringent that shrinks the skin’s pores.
STEPS:
- Gather equipments and ingredients: 1 lemon, small bottle and cotton balls.
- Wash your face and pat dry.
- Get the lemon and squeeze the juice on a small bottle.
- Dampen the cotton ball with the lemon juice.
- Apply it on your nose at bedtime, and leave it there overnight.
- When you wake up in the morning, rinse your face with water.
- Apply moisturizer and sunscreen after patting dry.
4. Green tea
How do you get rid of blackheads using green tea? Due to the high amount of antioxidants in green tea, it gets rid of oils and irritation on your skin as well as prevents it from having more skin problems. Aside from brewing some green tea and drink it, you can also apply it directly onto your skin.
STEPS:
- Gather equipments and ingredients: 2 bags green tea, cotton balls, gentle face wash, face towel, saucepan, and drinking glass.
- Place 1 mug of water on the saucepan and boil on the stove.
- Remove from the stove and put 2 green tea bags on the water. Steep for 30 minutes.
- Transfer the tea mixture to another glass and place the glass in a cooler. Chill for an hour.
- Wash your face with the gentle face wash and pat dry with a soft face towel.
- Get a cotton ball and wet it with the chilled green tea.
- Dab the cotton ball on your nose or the affected area, and let it stay on your skin for 15 minutes.
- Wash your face with cool water and pat dry.
- Apply moisturizer or skin cream.
- Repeat this while process for a week to see the best result.
5. Baking soda and water
The small granules of baking soda are very effective into removing anything that may clog your skin pores resulting to blackheads.
STEPS:
- Gather equipments and ingredients: baking soda and fresh water.
- Mix water and baking soda to form a thick spreadable paste.
- Apply the paste on your nose using a circular motion while massaging it gently.
- Rinse with fresh and cool water to remove any residue. Pat dry completely.
- Apply moisturizer.
*** Though baking soda is a wonderful treatment to remove blackheads, it is still important to take note that you should not overdo its usage because it is high in pH which may result to drying your skin.
